Part A: Formatting a spread sheet

Step 1. Open last week Microsoft Document. 

You will need to do the following to complete this assignment

 

 

Step 2: Formatting the document 

To Bold a row or a column, click on the # row (example 10) or letter column

 

 

 

Go to the formatting palette, and click on the letter B

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To Format the column or row you will need to highlight your column or row, by clicking on the # (example B) or letter.

 

 

 

Right Click on scroll down to Format Cells.

 

 

This will open up the Format Cells palette. Make sure you are on the Number Tab. Click on Currency, and make sure that the Decimal Places is set to 2, and the symbol is a $ sign (unless you are selling large purchase item, such as a house, a car, etc).

 

 

 

To insert a row or column, click on the # or letter, and right click on your mouse. Scroll down to Insert

 

 

 


Part B: Math Function

Step 1: Auto Sum Feature

Click and drag from the Monday to Total Item Column and to where you want the answer appear.

 

 

 

Click on the auto sum symbol.

 

 

 

Step 2: Multiplication

Click on the cell where you want the sales figure to appear.

Go

 

Step 3: fx dialogue box

Go to the fx dialogue box and enter your formula.

Remember to include the “=” sign, and “*” for the multiplication symbol.

 

 

Step 4: Copy and Pasting the Function

Once you have successfully created the multiplication function, you repeat the process by copying and pasting.

 

Copy the 1st cell that contain the multiplications function by right clicking on your mouse. Scroll down to copy.

 

 

 

Paste it into the cell below.

 

 

 

Remember to auto sum the all the Sales figure to get the Total Sales for the Week. To Auto Sum, highlight all cells you would like to include in your auto sum function. End your highlight on where you want your answer to appear.

Step 5: Make sure you bold all the major heading before you print it.

 


Part B: Printing Instructions

Fileà Page Setup

 

 

In the Page Setup dialogue box, click on Margins.

Follow the margin setting indicated by the illustrations.

Landscape Setting. Fit to: 1 to 1

 

 

 

 

Margins are set to 0.5

 

 

Make sure you do a Print Preview, to determine if your document will print out successfully or not.
